Can I delay the delivery date?

Modified on Thu, 30 Oct at 3:00 PM

We understand that sometimes life changes and you may need to adjust when your delivery arrives.

Here’s what you need to know.

Can I delay the delivery date?

  • Yes, you can delay your delivery [for most orders] — but you need to act quickly!
  • We can only delay delivery if your order hasn’t yet entered the ‘picking’ stage in our nursery.
  • Once picking has started, we’re unfortunately unable to change the delivery date.
  • Because of this, we strongly recommend calling us right after placing your order rather than relying on support tickets or emails — we may not see those requests in time.

Please note that we're unable to reserve stock for delayed orders due to the perishable nature of many products we supply. Therefore, there is a small risk that your items will be out of stock if you delay too long.

What You Can Do

  • Once you’ve placed your order, please call us immediately on 0333 210 1044 with your order number and the date you’ll be back home.
  • Our team is available Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm. We won’t ship your order until after the date you provide.
  • If you have already placed an order a few days ago but now need to delay delivery, please call us immediately at 0333 210 1044 with your order number and the date you’ll be back home.
  • Our team will check if your order can still be paused or held at our packhouse before despatch.
  • Please note we can’t guarantee this will always be possible due to our fast-processing times, especially for live plants.

If Your Order Is Already On Its Way

Once your order is in transit, regrettably, we’re unable to change the delivery date. Our couriers do not typically offer rescheduling for most items. We would recommend downloading the relevant courier's app as there may be an option to reschedule delivery or divert to a pickup shop.

If the delivery date poses an issue, you may:

  • Ask a neighbour or consider an alternative safe place if delivery is anticipated when you’re not home.

Planning Ahead to Avoid Delays

To avoid any delivery timing issues, we recommend:

  • Placing your order well in advance of when you need it—for example, before long weekends or holidays.
  • Contacting us early if you foresee delivery challenges—we’ll always try to support where possible.
